BLACK MAGIC

BLACK MAGIC - The Grown Up Edit

This winter I have pledged to inject more colour in to my wardrobe. But when skies are grey and you need to feel chic sometimes only black will do. One way I like to make it a little more interesting is to play the texture game.

Injecting some new season shapes and fabrics in to an all black ensemble leaves it feeling fresh and current. Whilst also providing that unchallenged comfort and Parisian girl attitude that only all black can bring. Updating from your trusted black skinnies to the more straight fitting cropped shape of A/W16 will instantly elevate your look and adding a velvet cami (either on its own or layered over a tee) is a great way to wear the velvet trend without feeling OTT.

Hoop bags are set to be huge this season and Autograph at M&S have done some of the best. This great sized tote is perfect for fitting everything in as apposed to it's micro bag competition (the other main bag trend this winter). It's also made from great quality leather and looks way more expensive than its high street price tag. Finally our go to coat shape for effortless style is a classic crombie shaped overcoat. Just the right amount of formality for work days with a masculine edge it slots in to our wardrobes perfectly. Moving forward I have promised to be more brave with colour but for now, on Halloween week it's all black everything for this colour phobe.
