THE FINAL COUNTDOWN

THE FINAL COUNTDOWN - The Grown Up Edit

As January drags on and the nights get colder we love nothing more than to sit on the sofa and browse the sales. You might think that all the good stuff will be gone by now but it's actually our favourite time to shop as it's when everything's 50% or less and there are so many bargains to be found.

As a general rule we try to stick to items that we were lusting after whilst full price as this will guarantee you keep your head and only buy pieces you'll actually wear. It's also a great time to buy out of season pieces to tuck away until the summer and stock up on your luxury basics like cashmere and silk. Below is our round up of the pieces we unfortunately couldn't wait for and purchased whilst full price (sob) and also some great bits we've managed to pick up at a snippet of their original price.

THE FINAL COUNTDOWN - The Grown Up Edit

1. WHISTLES was £195 now £55
We featured this gorgeous jumpsuit as part of our Grown Up LBD post back in December and I relied on it heavily over the festive period! A complete classic, it will fit in to anyones wardrobe and at this price it would be rude not to!

2. AUTOGRAPH @ M&S was £75 now £46.99
As you know here at TGUE we're complete cashmere addicts. M&S are one of our go-to shops for high street cashmere and they can always be replied upon when stocking up during the sales. For more styles click here.

3. LEVI'S were £90 now £45
After months of lusting over the Re-dones that we can't afford we discovered the new Levi's 505C. The ultimate straight leg jean it was originally labeled the punk jean of the 1970's. Today it has been reworked and slimmed down to provide the ultimate vintage straight leg look but with a more modern and flattering fit. We've ordered in the Atomic Blue and Deedee.

4. BARBOUR was £128.99 now £90.29
This was Wendy's ultimate winter purchase and I have to say I was green with envy when she got it. The perfect winter knit it looks great with denim and is such great quality wool.

5. WHISTLES @ JOHN LEWIS were £160 now £95
The ultimate black loafer. These have adorned Wendy's feet since the minute she purchased them. They're one of those items that rarely go on sale so a great investment.

THE FINAL COUNTDOWN - The Grown Up Edit

6. MANGO were £79.99 now £49.99
I LOVE a statement shoe and if it happens to be a boot well then that's even better. Having lived in my silver Office boots for most of the winter, it was love at first sight when I saw these in Mango. I held on though as I knew the sales were approaching and having got them at nearly half price it has made me love them even more.

7. DODO BAR OR @ BERNARD BOUTIQUE was £260 now £130
Even though it can feel a little odd, the January sales are a great time to purchase summer pieces. We were lusting after this Dodo Bar Or tassel dress all summer long and can now get it at half the price. This comes with a warning though as it might encourage spontaneous trips to warmer climates!

8. SOPHIE HULME @ BERNARD BOUTIQUE was £450 now £225
Another great sale buy from the Bernard Boutique. Bernard's has always been a little secret of mine. It's a boutique tucked away in my home town of Esher, Surrey. They have always been my first port of call during the sales as they have a great buy and stock all of my favourite brands. Having recently launched online I thought it was time to finally let the cat out of the bag and share it with you guys. Definitely worth a browse.

9. ZARA was £89.99 now £49.99
Even though I've lived in my H! by Henry Holland Leopard print coat a lot over the past few months, I understand that it's not really an every day piece. This is why it's a great purchase to make during the sales and this one from Zara is ticking every box.

10. ATP ATELIER were £140 now £56
We couldn't believe our eyes when we saw the price of these gorgeous ATP Atelier sandals. It's such a great time to pick up timeless summer pieces like this. Net A Porter have also got a great selection of espadrilles and beach wear on sale at silly prices so definitely worth a search even if it does make you feel like you're suffering from weather dysmorphia.
