After getting engaged last year I'm ashamed to say that it was only a matter of hours before the search for the dress began. As a self confessed shopaholic it was the part I was looking forward to most but the actual process of visiting bridal shops didn't live up to my expectations. That was until Wendy introduced me to Lucky Bride. Having left other boutiques feeling underwhelmed by the lack of stylish options, snooty staff and the insane price tags, Lucky Bride was everything I'd hoped for in terms of the dress shopping experience.
Based in Brighton, Lucky Bride is a discounted designer bridal boutique where you can pick up dresses by Charlie Brear, Temperley, David Fielden and Patrick Casey to name just a few for up to 70% off. The lovely owner Louise will book you in for a private appointment where you can play dress up to your hearts content. She has such a good eye for beautiful dresses and we fell in love with the vintage feel to most of her gowns. After a glass of fizz and talking through the dresses with Louise's expert knowledge it was like being there with a friend .
Unfortunately I didn't find my perfect dress but there were so many that I fell in love with and the overall experience was the best I've had by far. The dresses are samples so some will need a bit of TLC but with an in house seamstress they can also offer dry cleaning and alterations in house. Quite possibly the best kept bridal secret ever, a trip to Lucky Bride is a must for all brides to be.
