If there's one colour we can't get enough of this summer it's red. Slightly daunting at first but once you get the right shade for your skin tone it's a huge tan enhancer and feels like the ultimate summer hue. Our love affair with red started with lipstick and has slowly filtered it's way down in to our usually quite monochrome wardrobes (see Wendy's Get Lippy post to work out which shade is right for you).
Be it swimwear, shoes or summer dresses this is the colour of the season and luckily the high street is dishing it out in every shape and form. This dress is by a brand called Uterque which is basically Zara's grown up sister. They're currently only available online in the UK but their returns are free of charge and they collect from you so no worries about over seas postage costs. They have the most gorgeous selection of wardrobe staples and catwalk copies made from great fabrics for the price. This dress is 100% silk which makes it super light and breezy. The perfect throw on piece for hot skin after a day at the beach. No doubt it will be my go to dress on the honeymoon, but for now when teamed with my trusty leather jacket it's the perfect pub garden attire.
Another major obsession this summer is anything raffia in particular the basket bag. Currently the star of instagram the wholesome basket bag is beating the likes of Chanel and Gucci to becoming the 'it bag' of the season. If it's circular well then that's even better (I've just ordered this gorgeous 70's style roundie from Free People and can't wait for it to arrive). No longer reserved for beach days and supermarket trips the basket bag is now a firm contender in our every day city wardrobes and we love the unexpected twist it brings to denim and t-shirt days.
