BREAST FEEDING FRIENDLY OCCASION WEAR

THE GROWN UP EDIT - BREAST FEEDING

Now I know we promised no mummy blogposts but this is something I’ve been really struggling with so thought I’d share. At a time when your body confidence is at an all time low having to drag on your glad rags and attend a formal event whilst grappling with a hungry wriggling baby, nipple pads and a nursing bra is not very fun. So choosing the right style of dress to make feeding/expressing a little easier is half the battle. That being said these styles all work just as well if you’re not having to whip your boobs out at two hour intervals so don’t be put off by the header.

Below is my round up of the styles that work best.

WRAP
Often labeled the mumsy dress the wrap dress has learnt itself a bad rep. Gone are the days of Cath Kidson print jersey though and they now come in a whole host of silks, crepes and ruffles. The most on trend way to where the wrap is in the form of leopard print but I wore this green & Other Stories kaftan style dress to a wedding recently and felt amazing in it. The silk glides loosely over any lumps and bumps and it’s super easy to whip out a mammary at any given time/shriek.

Left - WHISTLES £319
Middle - & OTHER STORIES £89
Right - GANNI £475

STRAPLESS

Pretty obvious way to go when you need easy access to the boob banquet. Just make sure you get a well fitted strapless bra or some sticky back nipple pads to avoid any embarrassing leaks.

Left - J.CREW @ NET A PORTER £220
Middle - MILLY @ THE OUTNET £297
Right - GREAT PLAINS £95

BUTTON FRONT
Quite possibly the most popular style of 2018 the button down dress is still big this Autumn/Winter. Fun and romantic with a 90’s edge there’s a whole host of these on the high street giving us lots of options for easy pumping and dumping during the party season ahead.
