On a recent trip to Cardiff Meghan Markle proved she's more than just fashion royalty, she's fashion royalty with a conscience. This is something we feel really passionately about at TGUE and it's great to see that the nations new fashion darling is doing her bit for ethical brands. As someone who always looks effortlessly chic Meghan is quickly becoming a go-to for daily inspiration and we love how she's mixed fabrics and textures in this all black outfit and added a pop of colour with her bag. The jeans she opted for are the 'Dina' style from a local Welsh designer Hiut Denim. The brand was founded by husband and wife team David and Claire Hieatt in response to the terrible decline of the British cloth manufacturing trade. Having created 400 jobs in the Welsh town, it takes them about an hour and ten minutes to make one pair of jeans, compared with 11 minutes at a highly mechanised jeans industry giant. Their slogan is to ‘do one thing well’. This is something we can really get on board with as is Meghan's Chloe-esque looking bag. It's by a brand called Demellier London which we hadn't heard of before and we're so thankful she's bought them to our attention. At only £295 the Mini Venice that she's carrying here is an absolute bargain and looks far more expensive than it's price tag. The brand prides itself on being ‘functional and attainable, as well as socially conscious’ and for every bag sold, the label donates funds to prevent infant death through the charity SOS Children’s Villages. What's not to love! Our girl crush on Ms Markle has just gone up a gear and we can't wait to see what other green tricks she's got up her sleeves.
