Nail trends by the seasons can be pretty predictable: soft watercolours for spring, candy-hued brights for summer, and moodier reds, blues, and greys for autumn and winter. Dani and I are always drawn to more classic nail polish ideas. Timeless colours that suit our skin tones. Stepping out of our comfort zones we did find ourselves drawn to a couple of unpredictable shades this season. Here you can see the nail polish trends we’ll be wearing well in to 2018. From the modern, barely there to brights and metallic finishes. This is The Grown Up Edit's top 5 nail trends direct from backstage at fashion week SS18.
A juicy colour to spring you forward in to the next season - bold, bright and fun. If your go-to is classic red, it’s the perfect replacement if you fancy a change.

Red is a timeless colour that will always have its place on the runways. It's sexy and elegant. There’s nothing more classy than a bold glossy red nail.
You can’t go wrong with a pale pink, beige, or light taupe – a timeless and natural nail polish colour that becomes a trend every season. This year it’s barely there offering a hint of shine. I, for one, am always down for a nail look that requires almost no polish.
While warm and neutral tones generally ruled over the spring 2018 nail trends, a few nail artists bucked the trend to make blue a whole trend of its own. Get the right tone and it will look cool and unique.
