CLINIQUE - VITAMIN C REVIEW

We know we have to take our vitamins for our health and we know they improve our immune system. We know vitamin C's ability to curb the common cold and I can definitely admit to using it in the form of Berocca to help recover from a hangover or two. It’s also true that vitamins promote healthy, beautiful skin - working from the inside out.

Now it seems vitamin C is a hero in our skincare claiming with claims that it's full of antioxidants and will make our skin brighter and firmer while slowing down premature ageing of the skin. Vitamin C works on the skin because it helps to promote and maintain collagen production, fights off free radicals, corrects dark spots, redness, and skin discolouration and acts as a mild UV shield - very mild, so you still need your suncream.

I tried and tested CLINIQUE Pressed 7-Day System with Pure Vitamin C. Who wouldn’t with claims like this, “This simple, two-step system contains pure Vitamin C, one of the most powerful de-ageing vitamins. From the first application, experience brighter, more radiant skin. With continued use, see transformative de-ageing results: skin that's noticeably firmer, more even-toned, smoother, with visibly diminished lines and wrinkles and a radiant, youthful glow.”

The first thing you notice about this product when you try it is the smell. I couldn't quite put my finger on it at first, then I realised it's like fake tan. You can see for yourself the results below as I took a picture before and after the seven day trial. Unfortunately I did obtain a tan working outside on this trial so it may be little more difficult to see the results. My skin did look healthier, smoother and more radiant. The biggest difference was my deep lines softened, especially my frown lines in between my eyes. It’s something that would be a great investment for a special occasion or once a month or two as a treat to give your skin a boost. I would have been curious to see the results if I continued using it. Unfortunately this would work out on the expensive side at £100 a month!
