Prague has been on my bucket list for a while. It's a city I’ve always been curious about with its contrasting cultural and historical significance and its reputation for riotous stag weekends. We came with mixed views and expectations.
Back in September last year, I finally made it to a city I’ve always wanted to visit, Barcelona. It was my husband’s idea to tag it on to the end of a weekend away celebrating a friend's wedding in nearby Costa Brava. Laurie had been before but was very happy to go back .
My husband and I are both red wine lovers. Enjoying a good bottle of wine is a regular occurrence in our household. Having never experienced a proper wine tasting and Bordeaux being one of my husband’s favourite wine regions, Saint-Émilion seemed the perfect place for our next get-away.
This year, our holiday destination was France. Our plans started with a stay in Aubetrerre Sur Dronne in the beautiful Dordogne to celebrate Dani’s wedding. We wanted to make the most of the French countryside so decided to extend our stay for a few days.
I've just returned from the most wonderful weekend atViña La Carrena. We were lucky enough to stay there after a friend had hired it for her husband’s 50th birthday. It really was the perfect place to relax, cook, entertain and have lots of fun for our celebrations – sometimes a little too much fun!
I’ll try to put Marrakech in to words, but to be honest the pictures will say much more. Its culture, energy and colour are something to be seen. The smells are an experience too. Some nice and some not so nice - I think it’s important to be honest on here!
Two years ago my then boyfriend persuaded me to go on a ski holiday. Let’s say I had some little reservations about it, I’d only ever been on beach holidays, forty years old, not exactly sporty so totally out of my comfort zone.
