I started in fashion 25 years ago as a makeup artist. I spent my twenties and thirties living in London traveling the world on fashion shoots and working with celebrities. Whilst this is still my primarily my job I started The Grown Up Edit after being inspired by my time poor friends who would seek honest advice and inspiration. And if that’s not enough you can also enjoy the joys of my menopause journey.
What makes me tick
Mr Griffiths, Jesse and Draper my cats, red wine (ying) and my Nutribullet (yang), cashmere, red lipstick, the seaside, road trips, foreign films, art galleries and food.
The one thing I've always invested in is my skincare, whether it's an expensive face cream or a budget organic oil, quality is the key. As I've moved into my forties, my signature makeup has definitely changed. My smokey eyes have been replaced with a red lip and the curls – well they never change! Give me anything anything Organic, botanical Vegan and ethical.
It has to be said it’s always evolving with my age and ever changing body challenges. Generally classic and filled with good quality staples - gold jewellery, denim, cashmere, shirts, midi length dresses, tailored jackets and a leather biker jacket.
My Victorian house in the country is filled with Farrow and Ball paints, 70’s, Scandi, and modern furniture, antiques and somehow it all comes together. Next on the list is to design a Grand Design home, the hunt has began. May be little optimistic but everyone needs goals and dreams!
Nothing better than feasting on a roast dinner, tapas with friends, dim sum on a hangover, Italian for comfort food, Thai for balance, Vietnamese for health, and a curry any night of the week. Pretty much anything.
