The moroccan berber blanket of dreams

THE GROWN UP EDIT - Moroccan Pom Pom Blanket

I've been lusting after Toast's Moroccan style Pom Pom throw for months now, but with a fast approaching wedding to pay for I just couldn't justify the cost. So on a recent trip to Marrakech I thought I'd seek out Toast's original source of inspiration and was so glad that I did.

THE GROWN UP EDIT - Bazar Souk Marrakech

Tucked away in the artisan quarter of the medina I happened to stumble upon Bazar Al Kassri. I had already done the rounds of the tasseled throw souks but couldn't quite find the quality I was looking for. This was until I followed the mounds of dyed yarn hanging from the roof rafters and discovered Ali and his colleagues working away on their loom. The shop was an Aladins cave of blankets, rugs and pillows all hand crafted with the most beautiful Atlas Mountains wool and cotton. Every colour, size, pattern and tassel could be found here and they even customise their products to suit your requirements. Having stocked boutique hotels all around the world and featured in various magazines, the quality and artistry is second to none and the best part is you don't need to get on a flight to purchase one! Their website doesn't display all of the colour options and designs available but if you drop them an email they'll be happy to make a product to your brief and have it shipped to you for a really reasonable cost. I'm already planning my next purchase of a rug and cushions for the living room.
