Viña la Carreña | Jerez Spain
I've just returned from the most wonderful weekend at Viña La Carrena. We were lucky enough to stay there after a friend had hired it for her husband’s 50th birthday. It really was the perfect place to relax, cook, entertain and have lots of fun for our celebrations – sometimes a little too much fun!

It’s a location that is for all the seasons and if you have a large family gathering or friends' holiday coming up, I can’t recommend it enough. We had the most memorable stay and I can’t wait to return. They also cater for weddings and it would definitely be a special event if you did it here.
Viña La Carreña in Jerez de la Frontera is located in the famous area known as Pago de Macharmudo in South West Spain. We flew in to Gibraltar and then drove 90 minutes through beautiful countryside. It's quite a view on arrival as you enter through their vineyards and stables. After I’d finally got over the initial excitement and finished running around like a child, we were greeted by Fatima (the owner). She's friendly, welcoming, helpful and speaks incredible English and went through everything we needed to know for our stay there.
Viña La Carreña is a renovated 19th century building which was once home to an old press. It’s very spacious and is beautifully decorated with Spanish tiles, classy furnishings and caters effortlessly for a full house including 14 adults and six children. Facilities include spacious common areas, a living room, kitchen and a dining room. It's fully equipped and furnished to ensure that your stay is as comfortable as possible. All eight bedroom's have modern marble en-suites and are unique and stylish with quality bed linen and towels. The house is done to the highest spec so you can live in comfort and refinement with an incredibly warm atmosphere. It really is home-from-home.
The house is very secluded where you can enjoy their vast gardens or a dip in the pool, I wasn’t quite brave enough for that in March. Wrapped around the house are beautiful vineyards and classic Spanish countryside where you are free to wonder round and go for a little adventure. One of my favourite moments there was wondering around the grounds with my husband at sunset, it was idyllic! We were also lucky enough to be invited to feed their wonderful collection of Spanish Horses, I think I was more excited than the children. If all this isn’t enough then Jerez isn't too far away if want to explore or if you need supplies and surprisingly the beach is only 20 minutes away.
