High Street summer shoe edit
Here at TGUE we're firm believers in investing in high end handbags but when it comes to shoes the high street is producing such great quality now that you really don't need to spend a huge amount to get your fix. When it comes to winter boots we tend to invest in something a little more expensive to last a few seasons but for summer shoes the high street has got us covered. As two self confessed shoe addicts it also means we get to purchase more! Here are some of the newest additions to our wardrobes and the key styles we're loving for the summer season ahead.
1. BACKLESS LOAFERS
All hail the backless loafer. This is the trans-seasonal shoe that we can't get enough of right now. Chic, comfortable and easy to pair with pretty much anything. I've lived in these & Other Stories beauties for the last two months and am strongly considering the metallic pair below too. Wear with cropped denim and a tee for the ultimate in laid back Parisian girl style.
The espadrille always has and always will be our go to summer shoe. Either on holiday or at work, we love the Jane Birkin laid back summer vibe that comes with the ever faithful espadrille. The added slingback to these Mango ones had us at hello.
The summer mule is still reigning supreme this season and they just got a little fancier. Thanks to the likes of Gucci and No21 the high street is now dishing them out in a whole host of metallics and bows. A great way to jazz up a simple dress for a wedding or equally fabulous with denim and an oversized shirt.
The trusty slider has also been given a makeover this summer and it's all about the bow. Be it satin, leather or bejazzled, the pool time favourite is now a strong contender in our every day wardrobes.
The colour pop sandal is a real summer wardrobe staple. Such a great way to dress up a simple wedding outfit or channel your inner J Crew girl with loose fit denim and a striped tee. These Marks & Spencer yellow sandals are such a bargain at £19.50.
Ankle ties have been big news for a few seasons now and we're still loving the added edge they bring to our summer faves. Be it rope, leather or ribbon we'll be spending the next few months tied up.
As we're both over 5'8" Wendy and I spend much of our time in flats. But during the summer the wedge comes in to play and we can't get enough. Paired with our favourite boyfriend jeans and a simple tee it just makes you feel like you've made a bit more of an effort without compromising on comfort.
Leopard print shoes are a Grown Up Edit fave all year round but they look especially good when paired with a tan and some crisp white cotton. The Next sandals below are a holiday wardrobe staple.
