Chalet les oursons - La Tania
I organise a ski trip yearly for myself, my husband and a group of friends. It’s quite a task meeting everyone’s needs and it can also be a little overwhelming! Needing a little support last year, I booked through Alpine Generations. They were such a great help that it was a no-brainer that I would use them again for this year’s trip. You tell them all your needs and priorities - budget, location, catered, hot tub or anything else your heart desires (or 15 other people’s). Each time they delivered on our expectations and we all had a great holiday.
This year, one of the main priorities was that the resort catered for everyone’s ski levels. We had some real pros in the house who needed to bring out there inner James Bond, some intermediates and then me, a steady beginner. We were offered La Tania in the Three Valleys. It couldn’t have been more perfect. It’s such a large area so covered everyone’s abilities - from ski school to off piste. It’s also such a large area that you needn’t use the same slope twice. One of the other bonuses of the vastness of this area, is it keeps the slopes quiet.
My trip to La Tania was unfortunately cut short due to my husband having an accident. I still really wanted to do this blog as the short time we had there was incredible – some of the best skiing we’ve had. I also had to recommend Chalet Les Oursons. We all had the best time there and my friends can vouch for that since they stayed for the full week. Its location was perfect and the chalet itself was to a great standard. The rooms were cosy and comfortable, the food met all our needs (I have to add the cakes were delicious) and the staff were warm, friendly and helpful.
One of the most enjoyable aspects of Chalet Les Oursons was its location. The chalet is located just off the junction of the Plan Fontaine and Folyeres pistes - the green and blue pistes back into La Tania village - and it’s a true ski-in, ski-out. It also meant that you were only a five minute walk into La Tania if you needed any provisions or wanted to head out for a drink in the evening.
I would highly recommend Chalet Les Oursons for any type of group holiday. It had enough space for a group of friends and it would also be very child friendly. We can’t wait to go back, in fact there was a mention of it for next year. That’ll make my life a lot easier!
Set over 4 floors, the chalet has 5 en-suite bedrooms - 4 doubles and 1 twin with walk-through access to a second twin room (family suite). Each bedroom is the chalet is presented with it's own unique style. It also has a boot room with heated boot-warmers and large, open plan living area with open fireplace. To the rear of the living area there is access to a large terrace - which in turn leads directly to the piste.
