My favourite movies of all time
Laurie, the step-kids and myself spend seemingly endless hours trawling through our many entertainment providers - Sky, Netflix. Amazon.… and somehow through all of these we still struggle to find a movie we're all happy to watch. Some have been seen before, it’s too scary (usually me) or my favourite, it's too old and dated, well for some members of the family (another lovely reminder I’m turning into a dinosaur). I’ve actually got away with the latter a few times by saying it’s epic and it’s a must see - The Notebook was a hit with my stepdaughter (now watched approximately 7 times) and my stepson loved True Romance.
A Netflix series is our usual go-to in the week, as an hour's TV is usually all we can fit in between work/life and it’s a great way for us to get engrossed in something that helps us all switch off. At the weekend there’s still nothing better than a great movie for us. I don’t know if it’s me but there just seems to be less and less being released. So being constantly faced with another night of hours trying to find a great movie that suits everyone I started to write a list of film recommendations. Hence the inspiration for this blog. Plus it was actually fun reminiscing over bottle of wine or two, and maybe it will stir up a few emotions in you.
So having said that, here is my list of my all time favourite movies. In a few weeks I’ll be doing another blog with my favourite foreign movies of all time.
